no, no, marty was freakin' AWESOME. i absolutely loved that guy--the intensity and passion (not to mention that skinny-as-a-rail, iggy pop body) just knocked me off my keister. JD drove me crazy with all his drama and sometimes arrogant attidue (ugh)...and yet, just like this season, i knew he'd win. i don't know if he was a better fit for INXS or not (sales and tour seem to indicate that JD was a good decision), but i knew by about the middle of the season that marty was....well, way too good for INXS.
strictly my opinion here but like magni, marty is a better musician. lukas, like JD, is a better performer. not a knock on anybody--it's just that these two bands preferred a performer in front rather than a musician. that's fine--i mean, it's their band, they can choose who and what they'd like--but wow, give me a musician any damn day over a performer, thanks.
Well, that explains it anyway. I mean he even made a Britney Spears song sound good, and that is hard to do. Off topic, I really wish Supernova had done something like that this year. Or at least picked a song for whoever was left.
I don't know if you have seen the DVD, but there was a scene in the extras where Marty (I think that it was Marty?) admitted to JD that he had bashed him in the media, a la Dilana. It was all touching and stuff and JD showed him those stupid tatoos on his arm and forgave him for only 'being' ' human'. Lord almighty, that was so gushy and touching and sickening that I think he should have been kicked off the show right there. *laugh* That was WAY too touchy feely to be Rockstar!
They didn't have too much JD on the video, but he sounded okay with INXS. I just think I liked the Marty guy and Mig instead.

Marty was my fave from last season's Rockstar. But i knew halfway thru the season that JD was IT. Marty has his style and it's clearly not INXS. For me, JD fits well with INXS. And so does Lukas with whateveristheirname.
It was Mig who "felt like a Judas" to JD.

You are sooo right! When I watched that clip, I thought they should have had the song "Can you Feel the Love Tonight" playing. Marty was my fav from last year and I love his song Bullethole but when I listen to his CDs,I notice that his vocal clarity and writing skills cannot compare to the Iceman's.
Without music, life is a journey through a desert.

Okay! I couldn't remember and I had already sent the Netflix back. Either way, it was entirely too soppy for a rock show.

I couldn't tell Mag was sick at all. I loved his version of Creep. He made it his. I felt his emotion and think it's one of his best. Also it was different than his other performances so it's always stands out in my memory.
