I wonder if the Destination Truth team would investigate my dryer. It has some weird sock vortex, 6 socks go in, but only 5 come out. They are never heard from again.

Just Heather (11/8/2008) I wonder if the Destination Truth team would investigate my dryer. It has some weird sock vortex, 6 socks go in, but only 5 come out. They are never heard from again. You don't have to call the "Destination Truth" team to investigate your dryer, Just Heather! Your problem is not a "weird sock vortex"...it's clearly a case of a Sock Monster! FYI: Found in (or around) washing machines and tumble dryers. Thought to be a genetically modified, highly evolved organism. Although never actually sighted, evidence points to its habits and breeding cycle. A voracious predator the sock monster preys on single socks always leaving behind one of the pair it has captured. Mystery surrounds this behavior although zoologists surmise this may be an instinctual mechanism for long term survival. Able to cross great distances at a high speed and unseen, there is almost no known method of defense. Currently there is a research program to capture one and study its life cycle to provide some relief. The only known fact is the sock monster's numbers are proportional to the number of people in residence at one location. 1 person = 1 monster, infrequent sock predation, victim is able to carry on normal life. 2 persons = 2 monsters, increased predation, always one sock missing its partner after laundry day. 3 persons = 3 monsters, frequent predation, victims are rarely able to find matching socks. 4 persons = 4 monsters, forget it, no known cure, no matching socks at all for anyone, only humiliation. Mothers have been seen wearing one of their navy blue socks with a "Hello, Kitty" or "Dora the Explorer" sock from their daughter's sock drawer.

Hi you all!
The Worm in Lagarfljót is a very old story here in Iceland and there is people living today who think they have seen something strange in the lake.
I have not
But we have stories of more worms (long dead, I think) in Skorradalsvatn and Hvalfjörður for ex. Who can say if the storys is not true? Maybe the dinosors
lived longer here and in Lock Ness but in other parts of the world.
But we have a lot of fairies, elves and hidden people and I believe at least 1 person in most family here think they have seen one. (I have :hehe )
There is many stories about thos "hidden people" where they have helped
folks in trouble like women having birth. Even about romance between them and the folks in Iceland.
Who knows? Maybe they were the "rockstars" for our great-grandmothers and great-grandfathers
From somewhere we got the "it" who keep us rocking
