I think it's time. I"ll start with Debbie's from Atlantic City, since that is where Magni joined up, ( her pictures are in Video Section ) Hopefully, Beavis went to "Woos-tah" show ************* Hi Everyone, Magni Rocks(Sims) and I had a great time last night at the show, and yes we hung around at the after party waiting to see if Magni would show up, but he didn't. We were disappointed and now after reading Dilana's blog know why he was not there. It was funny watching Toby and the rest of his band party with all the girls hanging all over them (I'll say no more about that). Anyway, we arrived a little late for the show, since Sims had driven up from North Carolina and I just flew back from my vacation in Florida. As we went to get in line to wait for the doors to open, we saw Toby and Magni down the hallway and went down to see them. Sims, having already met Magni in Iceland, introduced me to him and Magni introduced the two of us to Toby. There were two other women there but they left and it was just the four of us chatting with them for a couple of minutes. Dilana, Magni, and Christian opened. We were standing two or three people from the stage so we had a good view. Magni only sang back up, but it was great to watch him work. You can tell he enjoys what he does in whatever capacity. This was his first show, so I can't wait to see what/if he posts on his myspace to hear his take on the Atlantic City crowd. They're set was the best part of the show and Dilana has a hell of a voice, which is even more evident in person. Don't ask me for any set list because I'm not good at remembering that. They were just great up on that stage together. I hope for everyone else that attends future shows, that Magni gets to sing lead on at least one song. Next was Toby and Juke Kartel. They were good too and I enjoyed they're set as well. It's great to watch Toby perform but hard to take pictures, because he doesn't stay still very long. Yes I did take some pictures, which I'll post later. Next, while they were preparing the stage for The Panic Chanel, Dilana, Toby and Magni were out front signing autographs, CD's, taking pictures with fans etc. It was insane and unorganized at first. Sims and I stood right outside the line near Magni almost the entire time. I tried to get in line, but it wasn't moving, so I went back to where Sims was standing. Anyway, I took some pictures there of all three of them and wanted to meet Dilana, but didn't have a chance too. Magni took a few pictures of Sims and I, only one of which I'll post. We only saw the last two songs of The Panic Chanel set because we were outside with Dilana, Toby, and Magni. I'm not sure Magni knew he was so popular here in the US and since this was his first show since arriving, I think he may have been surprised that so many fans wanted his autograph and picture. From what I heard from the people in the crowd, The Panic Chanel started out strong, and ended strong. The last song of they're set, Highway to Hell, was great and Dilana joined them on stage. She really nailed that song. It took them awhile to get the stage set for Rockstar Supernova (over 40 minutes). The crowd was getting impatient. Lukas sang with a jewel encrusted microphone. The RSSN set was pretty much like the reviews previously posted. The band was so loud that it was hard to hear Lukas's vocals. Of course, if you knew the songs, like we did it, it was still good. I liked watching Lukas, but he was even better when he performed without the band. Toby came on at the end and sang backup with him without the band. Overall, I enjoyed the show and was glad that I had the chance to go. I think it was Jennifer who posted previously, that if you watched the show this summer, you would enjoy the concert . And those (professionals) who have reviewed the show to date wouldn't get that. I'll post the pictures I have later. And, Magni, if you read this, it was nice to meet you. You were great up on stage with Dilana. Hopefully, we'll all have the opportunity in the future to experience you on stage with the HB or AMS in the US. And Lee, we missed you. I wish you could have made it. Debbie, NJ

This is probably the closet thing I'll ever get to seeing SN live..so I'm giving my review ..I, too saw them on "Live with Regis and Kelly" this morning.....as Kate mentioned in other thread************** | | Quick note. I just finished watching Regis and Kelly show and Rockstar with Lukas just finisjed. Very nice. Regis is so funny trying to get Lukas to say what restaurant he worked at before his big break and he finally blurted out 'Hey it was Hooter's nothing wrong with that' and Lukas makes this squeezing boob thing. A very nice appearance and Tommy wasn't too bad. LOL. A nice plug for the tour. Kate aka Canadaformagni |
| ***************** They sang "Can't Bring Myself To Light This Fuse" ( or face as Regis miss spoke and called it ..lol...) TL was on piano and they were accompanied by three lovely ladies on wood instruments. Honestly, on a scale of 1 - 10......I give it a 9..yes...9... It was very good and much better than any of the other things I have viewed of them performing. Okay everybody.......pick yourself up off the floor When the song was finished Regis and Kelly, as always, run over to talk to the musical guests. Regis asked about the show and how many contestants etc. As, Kate mentioned there was the whole "Hooters" thing. Regis also asked why Lukas was the guy..TL...said things like his sound, stage presense, experience, etc.....Lukas says.." No, he liked my hair " ..lol...who knew Lukas had a sense of humor ( just kidding) Lukas and Gilby closed the show, on stools, with guitars and sang "Headspin"... (really just a minute or so to close the show)...just thought I'd share *************** mama

I did indeed go to "Woo-stah" last night. Very, very tired this morning at work but will do my best to provide a coherent recap.
Dilana, with Magni on guitar, started the show. Set included "Zombie," "Supersoul," and "Roxanne." Dilana was great - very powerful vocals, as always - and it was really cool to finally see Magni in person. At one point, he provided a single background vocal (think it was during Roxanne, not sure) and at the sound of his voice, the crowd reacted with a huge cheer. There were a LOT of people yelling for him, it was really nice to see.
Juke Kartel up next - liked them a lot, would definitely go see their club show. "Burning Down the House" was really good, as was "Throw it Away." Like Dilana's set, Juke Kartel's was much too short - it was sort of shocking when each of them finished up - it was like, wait a minute, you just got here! But they both made the most of the time given them.
Then came Panic Channel. They were much better than I expected - I actually think their original material is better than a lot of Supernova's. Dilana came out and joined them on their one cover, "Highway to Hell." Lead singer worked the stage well and interacted nicely with the audience. Dave Navarro also interacted with the audience, albeit in a rather different way. At one point, he came down, grabbed a woman in the front row, and full-on kissed her for a good ten seconds or so. Interesting way to show fan appreciation, Dave!
Supernova...well, let's see. Lukas definitely has the chops to be a frontman - I was impressed with him. (Also liked his rhinestone-covered microphone and matching earplugs - I'd like a pair of those myself.) He just needs some better material to work with. "Headspin" and "Let's Spend the Night Together" were the highlights of the set, most of the SN compositiions didn't do much for me. The "R" rating of the show has definitely been toned down - Lukas' banter was pretty innocuous, and the T. Lee rack-cam was nowhere in sight. What else...Toby came out and joined Lukas on one of the ballads, after which Lukas planted a nice musician man-kiss on his cheek. Oh, and one of the things that I found interesting was that there was virtually no on-stage interaction between members of the band. Especially with Gilby - I don't think he and Lukas even looked at each other. Kind of odd for a band in this genre to have no lv/lead guitarist action, I thought.
Josh and Storm were both in attendance, visible to the audience from the far right of the stage, just in front of the first row. I think Dilana called out Josh, and Dave pointed to Storm. I was hoping for them, Magni, Dilana, and Toby to join SN during their encore, but no dice. Figured it was a long shot, so I wasn't too disappointed.
After the show, we lined up for the meet & greet. It was a LONG line and we were near the end of it. To Magni, Dilana, and Toby's credit, they stayed for the entire line, which was awesome - I fully expected that the M&G would end before we got there.
Now, when it comes to meeting musicians I admire, I have a tendency to get starstruck and generally lose the ability to form sentences. I was determined not to have this happen this time though. On the way to the M&G line, I saw Josh walking towards us, so I figured I'd give myself a little warm-up. As he passed me, I came up with the brilliant line of "Hey, Josh! Manchester! Yeah!" Manchester is the city in New Hampshire where he's from - my boyfriend is from a neighboring town, so I felt entitled to give props to the area. Josh overlooked my total lameness and gave me a huge smile, which was sweet.
Despite my success at speaking a few words to Josh, I was nervous as hell approaching the M&G table. Dilana was up first. I told her she should do a solo show in Boston, she asked us about the seafood there - she was really friendly. Then, Magni, who was also great. I managed to say that I loved the songs he had put out online, especially "It's Not About Us," to which he responded "thank you...yes, it IS a good song," which I thought was awesome - because I mean, hell, he's right! Then I tried to say that whenever I listen to it, it stays in my head for days...but in a good way, not in an annoying way, you know? Have no idea whether or not that came out clearly though, as I think I was starting to mumble at this point. Toby up next - he was greeting everyone (at least the girls) by standing up and saying "I'm giving out free hugs today!" Which I wasn't about to say no to, heh. He's a total sweetheart, really nice guy. Said that his band would definitely be playing Boston some time.
Overall, a very fun night! We took a few pics during the show, most of them very blurry. Will go through them tonight, if there's anything good I will post later.

Thanks for the great reviews. I have a question about the "meet and greet" sessions. I have gotten two different impressions, one that they are doing it after Dilana's and Toby"s sets, and two, that it is after the whole show is over.
I just don't want to miss MY chance to meet Dilana and Magni because I chose the the wrong moment to go to the bathroom!

| Last night they did it after the show was entirely over - Dilana announced that's when it would happen during her set. Not sure if they are doing it at different times in different venues - I'm sure they'll announce the correct time during your show.
