Thank you Lolinna, that was the article I was referring to - I had read it and was thinking "Yes, great Magni" but did not grasp that was more a radio campaign then a tour.

Sorry if I misled you guys but that was not what I meant to. All that stress about Christmas and voting you know :P

Yet I hope some of your will be able to see him and hear somehow, but of course that is something only Magni knows and can tell.

I think that Ida is referring to an article in Fréttablaðið on December 24 (on page 54), isn't that correct Ida? I decided to translate it for you guys on the other side of the river:)

Magni is selling and selling

The first soloCD of the rockstar Magni Asgeirsson has sold in over five thousand copies in Iceland and is reaching gold rapidly. The CD has also been selling well on iTunes, Amazon.com and other websites.

“It’s been selling really well abroad, particularly considering that technically we haven’t spent a dime on it”, says Magni, but he does not want to comment on how many copies have been sold. “It’s quite much”.

The CD at one time reached the 16. place over the most sold rock CD’s on Amazon, but it certainly does not give an accurate picture on the selling since the list is updated every hour.

He says that he hasn’t profited much on the CD abroad. “The little I get is put aside for the campaign when it comes to that”, says Magni, which is going to campaign US in February and March with advertizing and radio air play. Massive tour is not in the pipeline though. “I’m going to tour as little as I possibly can. The traveling is getting really tiredsome.”

Magni has been very occupied autographing his CD together with his friend Birgitta Haukdal. “A lot of people thought it was strange that we were doing this together” he says and admits that Birgitta was much more occupied than him.

Magni, which will be on the eastfjords (where he grew up) over Christmas, will be playing with Á móti sól on Eskifjörður on the 26th of December and on Broadway in Reykjavík on the last day of the year. Sálin (another icelandic band) has been playing on Broadway on that day through the years and it has always been a blast. We will do our very best to make the boys proud of us”, he says cheerfully

There is just one thing, it's like the volume gets really low around the 35 seconds and from then on. Of course it could just be my bad hearing:P

The show Magni sang the 'new' song 'Summer', the 10th aneversery of Land og synir, will be on Skjár1 tonight - 20:00 Icelandic time.

Yeah, tonlist.is has been getting more and more of the site into English the past few months, which makes it a heckuva lot easier! The key stumbling blocks are the opening and closing registration screens with the images that are still only Icelandic. The key thing is to hit the blue "Notandi" side on the opening registration screen, unless you want to pay $12.99 a month... The image on the closing registration screen is basically just telling you that e-mail to confirm registration will be sent and to check your e-mail.

The other thing is the minimum credit card charge of 500 krona or $7.95, which is like 3-4 new release songs, but if you don't buy that much it stays as a credit...I figured that Magni will have other songs on there eventually I'll want to buy. I'm sure the Eurovision tune will get up there sometime in the near future.

Don't come here Pollyanna, I was walking the dogs last night, live halfway up a steep hill, they were pulling, wanting to run in the new snow....slipped on the ice and pulled a muscle in my leg. Spent the evening on the couch; it is fine now. Luckily I didn't sprain my knee like I did a few yrs ago. Summer come back!

I've never heard rain that loud since moving from Vancouver which is much rainier then here in Victoria, We also had nasty wind the last two days. Alright, about to download it, I was trying to figure out if there was anything else I wanted but I guess I'll leave the rest of my 500 kr. on deposit for your next release... ;)

EDIT: So, I like the song overall, quite like the music, and the lyrics are hmm, OK. As always, you sound lovely, Magni! :) It will go into my iPod...speaking of which, I've played it twice now in iTunes and both times it went into Backstreets by Bruce Springsteen, which was actually a very good segue...iTunes is smart, it's not even the next song on the list! :hehe:

actually It´s not my song - It´s a song by "Land og synir" a fellow Iceland band and it was released first in 94 I think
- This recording is recorded live a month ago at a concert celebrating L&S 10 anniversary - I guest starred in that one song
- The writer/singer Hreimur was funny enough in the top 50 auditions with me in LA for Rock star along with 2 other Icelanders - 4/50 aint bad ;)

I'd do MP3 as that is the most universal across players, but AAC is fine too (that is what things come in from iTunes).

Ok, I managed to outsmart Firefox, could revoke my old pw to tonlist.is found my credit card.... surprisingly there is still some credit on it... despite x-mas round the corner and everything , lol.

Well it's not blocked, just a Firefox thing I think. Anyway, works fine in IE but I think I need to hear the whole thing to really have an opinion, 'tis a bit echoey on these speakers.

It's on a new album recorded on a 10 year anevercery of a band named 'Land og Synir' where Magni was one of their guests.

Rocker, mid-tempo? Could help identify the song.. :) Will have to check to see if it is on Tonlist.
