I have searched through the Internet about his career ... his songs, shows, blogs, photos etc etc etc ... and realized that there is no site or blog or anything else about you in Brazil;)

Magni,
I'm sure you've heard this a million times but you are so awesome. You have the best voice and vocal range I've heard in a long time. You sound a little like Nickleback's singer, Chad Kroeger who is also a great fantastic singer in my opinion. Magni, I don't watch TV (weird, I know) so it has taken me 2 years after the fact to see your performances on Rockstar Supernova. I only discovered it now because of my friend, Butch, who was somehow involved with the show. So everyone already knows what a f-ed crazy mistake it was to have not picked you to win so we won't even go there. I do want to say I have always LIKED Jimi Hendrix.... until I saw you perform Fire. Truth be told you perform it better than Jimi and that's no bull. I pulled up live performances of Fire by Jimi Hendrix on the internet and watched it/listened to it side by side with yours and you smoked him on his own song. Let me say I have always hated The Who, but hearing you do My Generation was awesome. You killed! I couldn't believe I was actually enjoying hearing THAT song, but I LOVED it. The USSR song, I mean what in the hell were they thinking??? But you pulled it off. You turned a ho-hum song into a killer performance leaving your viewers and fans wanting more - not more Beatles (gag) but more Magni! All of your performances on that show were memorable and often better than the original band. Dolphin's Cry, Creep, Teen Spirit, I Alone, Clocks and Fire were all so fantastic. I think you can go all the way to the top and maybe you already have - like I said, I'm about 2 years behind in current events of any kind. I wish you the best and will be at least trying to keep up to date with your CD's by adding you to my myspace - you'll get the request shortly.

I would love to get my hands on some of your music. I wish you the best of luck in life! You deserve it! you're a great performer and I would love to see you someday. It would be a dream come true! Why Magni is unique and why he needs to release an English version cd

I am new to this forum but I wanted to write this post to express my overall impressions about this talented singer/songwriter and kindhearted soul. One cool cat, for sure. :cool:

I view Magni as a passionate singer/writer who cares about others no matter what their faults or eccentricities may be. How can you not like a person who doesn't take themselves too seriously and just goes with the flow in life ?

So, fellow group members, I have a question for you. I know this is a longshot, but do you think Magni would ever consider contributing a song to help a volunteer organization that helps Tibetan Refugee children? :discuss:

I know, I know, why would he? In my view, he seems to be the type of person who cares deeply for his fans and nonfans alike and would want to help people in the world when opportunities presented themselves. Possibly, a Bono in the making.

After all, what is the reason we are on this planet in the first place ? Money, power, fame, meeting big busty blonds who turn out to have an extra something ummm...not that I would know anything about that...hee...hee..:gulp: :blink: ? Nope. None of the above.

We are here to help others. It really is as simple as that. Putting others before ourselves but realizing that we have to take care of our needs as well and not let others take advantage of our kindness and generosity. Needs outweigh wants every time :exclamationmark:

My girlfriend thinks I'm nuts for writing this stuff about another guy but why can't a guy express his emotions and feelings? And please, none of that "Well, you're not a man's man" crap. If you can't or don't show the softer side of yourself maybe you have to think why that is?

Damn, I am on a rambling tangent. Seriously though, we all know Ed Kowa...err..Magni is a unique soul (from our limited vantage points, at least) who cared for everyone in his Rockstar house and was genuinley sad when they had to leave. Humanity needs more people like him.

BTW, has anyone heard the 4 or 5 songs that he wrote and sang in English? I want to hear them realy bad but I have a 50k modem dialup connection and my computer doesn't want to play the music for me. Anyone know of somewhere else where I could hear his songs? :doze:

Also, considering buying some of his Icelandic songs but do not know where to look so I could listen and see if the voice alone works for me as I took Canadian langauge class in school instead of Icelandian :rolleyes:..is that what the language is called even?

Finally, would love to hear some of his stuff. If anyone knows where I could hear some of it I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

I live In Ottawa Canada. You were here with Dilana on October 7th and I missed it. I heard nothing about the show until after it was over. I was so disappointed, I can't understand how I missed it. Please come back. You were my favourite on Rockstar and Dilana a close second. I can't beleive I missed that show. I hope you come back and I will check your site often to look for more Canadian dates. I really hope you pursue your career and release an album over on this side of the world. I actually thought you were way too talented to end up in a no-where band (like poor old JD Fortune and INXS who just got dropped from one of their labels) so I was actually glad to see Lucas win (besides he's Canadian - I felt obligated). I'm hoping to see you do great things on your own with the freedom to do your own thing. Hope to see you come to Vancouver! I mean really - you guys went to Ottawa - what's an extra 2000 miles of travel! And where else but in Vancouver can you find Starbucks on every corner and rain 364 days a year and fleece jackets on everyone under the age ofn 75. What Songs Should Rockstar Type Contestants Stop Singing?

After watching Supernova this summer and catching American Idol off and on (don't you think the people on Supernova and INXS were SOOO much better than the ones on American Idol and America's Got Talent - although I did really like that little yoddeling girl) I've come to the conclusion that there are certain songs that should go on a "no singing list". So what are your picks and why?:

Here's my pet peeve. Bohemian Rhapsody. K - give it up people - no one sings like Freddy Mercury and even Freddy couldn't sing that song live and make it sound like it was recorded. I saw him do it live years ago and it makes you realize how much that song is over-layed and processed. That song is so familiar to everyone that it never sounds good when someone else sings it.

And what are your favourites:

Mine was Magni doing "I Alone" by Live. Oh My God, I was ready to sell everything I owned and move to Iceland after that song but then I realized hey, I have no idea where Iceland is. All I know about the place is that they have itchy sweaters, very cool ponies and Bjork.

Anyone else?

Ég hef verið að deyja úr spenningi fyrir þessum rockstar tónleikum, alveg að springa, ég hélt að það yrði ekki uppselt svona hrikalega fljótt.. Ég varð að vinna í allan gærdag þannig ég komst ekki í skífuna að kaupa miða, síðan fór ég á laugarveginn í dag kl 2 og ætlaði að kaupa miða, en nei, laungu uppselt sagði stúlkan!, þetta er versti dagur lífs míns þar sem ég algjörlega dírkaði þessa rockstar þætti og AKKURAT þessa söngvara, síðan húsbandið?, ertu ekki að grínast!..

Mér finnst ég eiga það skilið einhvernveigin að fá miða, hvort sem að þú getur reddað mér magni eða einhver annar, ég veit ekki hvernig ég gæti þakkað sú manneskju!.. Aðsjálfsögðu borga ég miðann, en ég verð að komast!

Og magni: ég kaus þig eitt kvöldið 3400 sinnum ;).. ég á skilið einn miða ;)!.. hehehe.. Elska þig kall :)

You are having a concert in Laugardalshöll in 30.november with Toby,Storm,Dillana and the Houseband from the show. but what i was wondering is that the concert is on a Thirdsday and because i live in Akureyri city, so i would have to drive there and skip school wich is not good...... So i was wondering if you are going to perform som other time on a weekend mabey???

You were my favorite throughout and would only have been interested in seeing this band if you were out front. That's okay that you're not. I wanted to write Magin a letter and tell him why I think he is so great but then I remebered a review on the RS contestants, searching I found it again. I think this pretty much sums it up.

Magni I love you so much ( as an artist , no offense Eyrun..) that I am just speachless and therefor I have to ~~steal~~ borrow somebody elses text; :P

[i]"The Immigrant Song" from Led Zepplin III ran through my mind as I reviewed past performances of Magni. Magni comes from Iceland, and the lyrics, "We come from the land of the ice and snow, From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow", are a fitting theme for this man. (I love the song anyway.)

Nicknamed The Iceman, Magni has remained cool under pressure, composed in his dealings with everyone on the show. But beneath the cool exterior flows a river of molten fire. Magni began his journey on Rock Star tentatively, with a debut performance of the Rolling Stones' "Satisfaction". Since then, he has solidly and consistently upped the ante. Magni delivers charismatic, incredible vocals -- full and powerful. He retains tonality no matter the force of the vocals, never breaking note or screaming the lyrics. He can deliver softness one moment, and the next infuse his delivery with intensity and emotion that permeate the studio rafters.

Magni is a performer in the style of Bono of U2 and Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin. He's been criticized for his stage presence. He eschews trite glam rock antics, instead he prowls the stage, fluid personification of a powerful cat. He draws on the strength of his magnificent vocal prowess to engulf the audience. Magni has stayed true to himself and what he's about as an artist and musician through criticisms of his performances. He exudes an aura of knowing exactly who he is. OK, 8,000 people from your country went to welcome you home. My husband and I laughed (in amazement) and said "What percentage of his country WAS that?? That's a lot!"

So we looked it up. (We're dorks that way. )

Almost 3 percent of your entire country showed up to welcome you home! LOL OK, you have about 296,000 in Iceland. Here in Houston we have about 1,900,000 people. But in the u.s. we have about 296,000,000 people. So had that been our country supporting you like your wonderful folks did, that would be 8 million people. I can't even imagine getting 8 million people (3% of the population) doing ANYTHING together!!

So what's the point of this post? To say how amazed we are and thrilled that there are SO many other people who love you like my husband and I do!

Dear Magni

I am one of the tens, no hundreds, of thousands of people who now know your name, the sound of your voice, the name of your wife and son...I cannot imagine the enormous changes your life has gone through just the past six months. You were famous in Iceland and now you are famous in most of the world.

When I read your post about flying back to Canada with Dilana to do that concert in Ottawa, it hit me: Your life will never be the same. You cannot go back to being that stay-at-home daddy who plays music while mommy teaches school...

One of the things we all liked best about the Rockstar: Supernova webcasts and television shows was you: Magni, the gifted "jukebox" of a musician, the rock steady voice of reason in the house full of crazy musical artists, the grounded family man who missed his wife and baby. In Hollywood, in the celebrity culture especially in America, fidelity isn't something we see very often. It is refreshing and uplifting, inspiring even to see a man who loves his family so much.

Your career is taking off like a bullet! But the most important things will always be Eryun and Marino. No matter what else happens in the months and years to come, they come first.

Fame comes and goes. And Marino will only be a little boy for a short time. In the months to come people (your fans, music industry people, the press and so on) will demand more and more of your time and energy. But be strong. Hold to your boundaries, your privacy. Keep sacred the time you spend with your family. You owe us nothing at all compared with what you owe to them.

I say this to you as my children approach adulthood. Mine are 19. 18. 17. and 13 years old. That seems so old to you, I know. But it happened in the blink of an eye. They grow up so quickly. It is easy to miss if you're not paying attention.

A while back I went to New York City for a year to sing opera. I left my kids with their daddy and step-mother to pursue my dreams of singing at the Metropolitan Opera. But one day walking around lower Manhattan on a crisp fall Sunday afternoon I realized I would never afford to have my kids live with me if I stayed there in NYC. I couldn't bear to miss their last years of growing up. So I went home. I let go of my dreams and have found a new venue through which to be an opera singer that doesn't compromise my kids.

Stay grounded, dearest Magni. We adore you. We will buy your albums and concert tickets and even airplane tickets to Iceland to come see you. But no matter how much we love you, Eryun and Marino and the rest of your family and real life friends love you more.

Hi Magni,

Myself and my wife (Birmingham,UK) just watched the last episode of Rockstar last night (due to BskyB being behind in showing the episodes/weeks by 12 days. I never considered using the internet to view until week 8). Lets just say we were absolutely gutted that you never got the gig. We thought that you were the most consistent vocalist any Tommy Lee took the easy option and opted for a prancer.

My favourite songs you covered were, STP-Plush followed by Hendrix-Fire and Live-I Alone. I also thought that your original was very good and memorable (TLs comments).

So when do you plan to release your next album and or even possibly tour the Uk?
